This week we attended an assembly
called “Overcoming Embarrassment
to Achiev e Greatness.” Throughout
this assembly students heard the story
of Don Campbell and how he created
the dance style “Locking.” Students
participated in the dance style and
were able to see how they can face
embarrassment with confidence.

Synthesis
In reading we can synthesize information from
the text and from images to create a new or
deeper understanding.
Ask your child to tell you about an
achievement that they are most
proud of so far this year.
Effort/Motivation/Persistence
In writing, we used great effort to complete a
poetry collection. We were motivated to
become poets!
