Federal Abuse, Mistreatment, Neglect, Misappropriation of Property: F223-F226 Surveys continue to find lack of compliance with federal standards under these tags. Based on input from Minnesota nursing home provider stakeholders, MDH will host a focused group to work on Compliance with Federal Regulations: F223-F226 L&C/OHFC will continue to enforce compliance with federal standards. CMS federal surveyors will conduct oversight surveys to assure that MDH staff are surveying consistent with federal guidelines. 2. CMS Update: Improve Behavioral Health & Reduction of Use Antipsychotic Medications (See attachment) On March 29, 1:00-2:00pm EST the Division of Nursing home will be sponsoring a video streaming program on the Initiative to improve behavioral Health and reduction of the use of antipsychotic medications in nursing homes. CMS is developing a national action plan to improve behavioral health management and to safeguard nursing home residents from unnecessary antipsychotic drug use. Through a multidimensional approach including research, public reporting, raising public awareness, regulatory oversight and technical assistance/training, we hope to enhance person-centered care for nursing home residents, particularly those with dementia-related behaviors. 5.
