Circular
It is hereby informed to all concerned that the following students of Gujarat
Technological University were reported for adopting unfair means in Winter - 2014
university examinations. They are been called as per the following schedule for hearing
before Unfair Means Committee. The show cause notice of below students is issued and has
been sent to their respective college through speed post. However even if they do not receive
show cause notice all concern are herewith informed to remain present at following venue
and schedule without fail.

GTU/UFM/Notification/2013/9271 punishment to be imposed on students who have indulged
in unfair means during exams is prescribed in column “Proposed Penalty” against name of
the student. As per the said notification for the unfair means committed by student, the
punishment shall be imposed upon student, if ultimately student is found guilty by the Unfair
Means Committee.
Student are therefore hereby called upon to show cause as to why the punishment prescribed
by the notification dated 15/10/2013 referred to hereinabove should not be imposed upon
student and student are hereby informed to remain present personally and submit their
explanation before the Unfair Means Committee of the University on Date and Time as
prescribed against his/her name at Gujarat Technological University, Nr.Vishwakarma
Government Engineering College, Nr.Visat Three Roads, Sabarmati – Koba Highway
Chandkheda, Ahmedabad – 382424.
Student will be shown his/her answer book and/or other evidences on which the university
rely on the date of hearing. It may kindly be noted that if student do not remain present on the
date and time fixed, it will be presumed that student have no response to be given to the
present UnFairMeans Case and the proceedings would be conducted ex-parte. If student are
willing to submit written reply, the same may be submitted on the date fixed here in above.

Explanation of Punishment
Level 1
Declare the Examinee as “Fail” in respective Subject of the current semester summer/winter examination
A to K
conducted by the authority.
Level 2
Cancellation of result of all the subjects of the current semester examination conducted by the authority.
A to E
Level 3
Cancellation of result of all the subjects of the summer/winter examination and debarred to appear in
A to N
next summer/winter all examinations to be conducted by the authority.
Level 4
Cancellation of result of all the subjects of the current semester examination and debarred to appear from
A to D
next three summer/winter all examinations to be conducted by the authority.
Level 5
Cancellation of result of all the subjects of the current semester examination and debarred to appear from
A to D
next four summer/winter all examinations to be conducted by the authority.
Level 6
Deferred submission of thesis/dissertation/ project work for a period of 3 years in case of ME /M.Pharm/
C
MBA/ MCA and for a period of 5 years in case of PhD for resubmission. The resubmission of the
thesis/project work/dissertation shall be with new topic with fresh work.
Under 7*
The examination committee shall decide the penalty depending upon the nature and complexity of
involvement of the examinee is concerned
