A Brief Report on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Gujarat Technological
University on 02nd October, 2014
Under the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” all the Gujarat Technological University family members
participated in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on the auspicious day -Gandhi Jayanti 2nd October, 2014
from 10:30 onwards under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Akshai Aggarwal
and lead by the Registrar Dr. G P Vadodaria. A committee was constituted to thoroughly inspect
all the three buildings of Gujarat Technological University i.e. Admin Building of UniversityChandkheda, 2nd Floor of ACPC building, L D Engg., College Campus, GNLU campus Gandhinagar
and its surrounding area. The team visited every corners of the building including various
rooms, terrace, toilet, stairs, store, basement, water tank and the surrounding area of buildings.
The inspection nearly took 4 hours to visit all the corners of the buildings. The details report has
been prepared to find out vulnerable corner so that extra care may be taken from now onwards
by the every members of GTU to keep campus dust free. Based on the inspection report subcommittee have been constituted to take care of repairing of the furniture, computer
peripherals, Pasti, write- off the various equipment’s & furniture and also the section heads
have been assigned the duty to care of the cleanliness of the nearby portion of the building
including toilet section. Nodal officers have been appointed for all the three campus of the
building namely (1) Mr Hemal Patel- Dy. Engineer to look after Chandkheda Campus (2) Dr.
Manish Rachchh - GNLU campus - Gandhinagar and (3) Mr. Nilesh Zha -LDCE Campus.
All the family members of GTU took voluntary oath to maintain cleanliness of the University
campus and its surrounding area on regular basis. It was decided to have such kind of “Shram
Daan “on regular basis so as to make campus neat and clean.
