GTU has introduced S4 Extension Center initiative for all the GTU affiliated colleges. This is a
Report of the maiden event of the S4 Extension Center at AITS.

Rajkot saw its 1st Start-up Demo day at AITS on 19th October, Saturday from 2 pm to 7 pm at
Step Auditorium of Atmiya Institute of Technology & Science. It was the 1st such activity under
the S4 Extension Center at the college campus. GTU Innovation Council had appealed every
campus to create S4 Extension Centers to support young student ventures. AITS took a call into
this and kicked off the process to establish an S4 Extension Center so that activities, involving its
students, faculty members, industry persons, students start-ups and senior entrepreneurs, as
mentors for the budding entrepreneurs, could be started.
Mr. Jatin Chaudhary founder of Point 10 brought together dozen student ventures from
Saurashtra and hosted the grand event at the campus. Mr. Shrey shah and other volunteers of
AITS coordinated the ground efforts in hosting this mega effort. , Prof. Viral Thkar, Prof Ashish
and Prof G.D Acharya, Principal AITS extended all possible cooperation. The S4 Extension
Centers are trying to bring in local start up ecosystem and student start-ups together. Mr. Ankit
Thakkar one of the presenter during the Demo day shared that it was his childhood dream
coming true. While a dozen young start ups shared their journey and insights the young
students of the campus got an altogether different idea about the true potential of young
minds. Starting from e-commerce to social entrepreneurship this demo day saw a great
participation and discussion. The event went on much after the scheduled hours as students
participated in huge numbers not only from the campus but from all 3 GTU innovation
Sankuls from Rajkot. Having faculty members in the audience and their view point of
promoting student entrepreneurship in the campus was found to be encouraging. In fact it was
suggested that if faculty members come out to support such young start up at early days by
helping the students in developing their products and ideas, we may see more number of
teams venturing into their own dreams. Students shared that the present policy system and
academic ambience in Colleges does not encourage the student ventures to get nurtured in
campus in most of places. GIC is focusing to extend all support to those students through the S4
Extension Centers. All the best to all campuses who are coming forward and especially young
volunteers like Shrey Shah and other faculty members, without whom such Centers cannot
flourish. Let the spirit of young resurgent Indians win the race for setting up new ventures and
create value for money and value for many in the years to come. Hope such young community
of student ventures will show new way of journey from innovation lead entrepreneurship.
