Workshop on JAVA
Under the initiative taken by GTU to start Open Source Technologies Club in collaboration with
Spoken Tutorial Project-IIT Bombay, Open Source Technologies Club (OSTC) has been
established at Gandhinagar Institute of Technology.
All the departments had organized a workshop on JAVA with the help of IIT-Bombay Spoken
Tutorial Team for students of all semesters to boost the knowledge of JAVA, Total 109 students
participated in this workshop.
All the participants had installed and carefully watched videos on JAVA which were received
from Spoken Tutorial Project-IIT Bombay. At the end of workshop, feedback was also obtained
from participants.
The workshop has proved itself a very motivational event of learning JAVA and the students
have become enthusiastic in their approach towards the JAVA language. Students are truly
inspired by the workshop and seem to be pursuing many other means of finding further
information about the concepts of JAVA. They have shown willingness towards participating in
more workshops like this.

Workshop on LaTex
The Workshop on LaTex was organised by Gandhinagar Institute of Technology as part of
Gujarat Technologies University - Open Source Technologies Club in collaboration with Spoken
Tutorial Project-IIT Bombay.
The stress of the workshop was on the software LaTex for preparing reports, letters and
presentations - especially useful for persons engaged in writing/ publishing documents from
science field. The workshop was organized for the participants from faculty members of
College. The participants were very enthusiastic and many of the participants spent lots of time
to practice and assimilate various topics from LaTex.
Registered participants were given material including spoken tutorial videos, software
installation file, instruction manual for installation of software provided by Spoken Tutorial
Project-IIT Bombay. Total 31 faculty members participated in this workshop.

Workshop on PHP MySql
Gandhinagar Institute of Technology has organized a workshop on PHP & MySql with the help
of IIT-Bombay Spoken Tutorial Team for the students of all the departments to boost the
knowledge of PHP &MySql among them. Along with the students, the workshop was also
arranged for the faculty members as well.
Much enthusiasm was seen among the students and the faculty members for this workshop
since PHP & MySql technologies are widely used in most of today’s software applications. Total
142 students and 27 faculty members participated in the workshop.
All the participants had carefully watched videos and also had hands on practice with the online
material provided which were received from Spoken Tutorial Project-IIT Bombay and
preinstalled in the computer systems.
At the end of workshop participants were directed to submit their feedback regarding their
experience of the workshop. Institute is thankful to GTU and IITB Spoken tutorial team for such
a wonderful initiative.
