Gujarat Technological University has introduced Open Source Technologies Club initiative for all
affiliated colleges. To take advantage of Open Source software through IIT Bombay Spoken
tutorial project for students and faculty members, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of
Technology has formed OSTC with the support of Dr. V.R. Panchal, Principal, SVIT, Vasad.

SVIT has organized workshop on LaTex Software on 6 th February, 2014 during at 2.00 P.M. to
4.30 P.M. Inaugural function was started at 2.00 P.M. and welcome speech and information
regarding to OSTC club activity was given by Prof. P.R.Gandhi.
Expert from IIT-Bombay explained and discussed about spoken tutorial through Skype. Twenty
two faculty members of the various departments of SVIT College participated in the workshop.
Information about LaTex tutorial, assignment and technical guide-line about software were
given by OSTC members to participants with the support of IIT-Bombay. The workshop was
successfully conducted and softcopy of LaTex software was given to all participants for further
practice.
