Felicitation of Industrialists
On 7th May-2014, V.V.P. Engineering College, Rajkot has organized a felicitation programme of
industrialists who had given platform to all pre-final year students during the last semester. As
a part of an industry-institute interaction since last year we have started a training programme
for pre-final year students in which they have to go their allotted industries for training. During
the entire semester they have gone to industries in every week end without any break. This
practice has helped them regarding industrial awareness as well as practical knowledge.

V.V.P. Engineering College has signed 159 MOUs with different kind of industries and under
that a total of 573 students have taken training. Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor
appreciated the efforts of industrialists and honored each one of them individually. He told the
students and the industrialists that each one of the students should be given regular
responsibility as the other engineers at the factory are given. He added that they should be
subjected to the same discipline during their 80 days(about) in the industries, since they were
going on every Saturday and Sunday during two semesters to the industries. He asked the
students and the industrialists to make the program a great success and to help expand the
program to all the students of GTU. He said that Gujarat has about 250,000 small and medium
enterprises and if even 10% of the industries were to accept the lead, given by the 573
industrialists of Rajkot, all the students of GTU can be easily accommodated in a similar
program.
