Open Source Technologies Club (OSTC)
GTU has introduced Open Source Technology Club initiative for all the GTU affiliated colleges in
collaboration with Spoken Tutorial Project-IIT Bombay. The objective of Spoken Tutorials is to learn Free
and Open Source Software (FOSS). It helps the students to learn complicated topics through simple
tutorials and also proves cost effective. This method is highly conducive to self-learning.
Anand Institute of Information Science has established Open Source Technologies Club (OSTC) through a
tie up with Spoken Tutorial Team – IIT Bombay. AIIS organized workshop on PHP & MySql and Java &
Netbeans under OSTC.

Day: 1 Workshop on PHP & MySql
Anand Institute of Information Science College had organized workshop with help of IIT-Bombay Spoken
Tutorial team on PHP and MySql for MCA 2nd and 4th semester students.Total 62 students and 9 staff
actively participated in workshop.Prof. Pravin Patel had organized the workshop along with Mr. Krunal
Khurana, Mr. Hiren Darji and OSTC student coordinators.

IIT-Bombay Expert was available online through skype during the workshop. Then Students had carefully
watched and hands on practise done on PHP which were already installed in their machines.

Day: 2 Workshop on Java and Netbeans
Anand Institute of Information Science, organized workshop with help of IIT-Bombay Spoken Tutorial
team on Java and Netbeans for MCA 2nd and 4th semester students. Total 45 students and 8 staff
members have actively participated in workshop. Prof. Pravin Patel had organized the workshop along
with Mr. Krunal Khurana, Ms. Zinal Patel and OSTC student coordinators.
