Minutes of Meeting
On 6th May, 2014, a meeting of UDISHA coordinators of Rajkot-1 (shaper Veraval), Rajkot
– 2 (Aji Industries) and Rajkot-3 (Metoda Lodhika Sankul) and Principals of all the different
GTU affiliated colleges from the Rajkot Zone was arranged at the board room of Atmiya
Institute of Technology & Science, Rajkot at 7:00 PM in the presence of Dr. Akshai
Aggarwal, Honourable Vice Chancellor of GTU. Dr. Ghanshyam D. Acharya, Principal,
Atmiya Institute of Tech & Science welcomed all the participants and began the proceedings.
The following were some of the points discussed in the meeting:
 Dr. Akshai Aggarwal said that it was very important that every Sankul Committee
meets regularly and that every Principal/ Director of every College/ Institute/
Polytechnic in the Sankul participates in the meetings.
 The Honourable Vice-Chancellor emphasised on the importance of the faculty visiting
industries and if possible the faculty may take training in the industry related to their
respective branch.
 He said that GTU’s graduates should be able to compete in the global market.
 Faculty Training programs may be conducted in the college so as to improve the
capacity of the faculty members.
 The three Sankuls should strive to become even more active so that industry-academia
collaborations in Rajkot may set a model before the State..
 One of the eminent personalities from the Wankaner Ceramic industry, Mr.
Ghanshyambhai Dholariya, Co-Chair of the GTU Innovation Sankul at Morbi also
told about his experiences.
 Mr. Nilakanth Jani, regional Manager, Rajkot from CED, Rajkot also attended this
meeting.
 One announcement regarding National Level summit on “Accelerating corporate
transformation issues and challenges” at Atmiya Institute of Technologies and
Science on 14th may, 2014 was made.
Dr S C Reddy, Dean of Management Studies, Professor Dilip H. Ahir, Associate Dean for
the Diploma Engg program, Professor P.C.Vasani, Principal, L E College of Morbi Sankul,
Dr H.M.Nimbark, Principal, Om Engg College of Junagadh Sankul, Dr Yogesh Kosta
Director Marwadi Education Foundation and the Resource Person for GTU’s ‘Confluence’
project, Dr Siddharth Jadeja, Director, B.H.Gardi College of Engg & Tech, Professor P.P.
Kotak, Principal A.V.P.T. and many other top-most persons from technological education
were present and expressed their views.
The meeting was followed by dinner arranged by the management of the Atmiya Institute of
Technology & Science, Rajkot.
