Augmentation in API scores for papers in referred journals. o 5 points of indexed; 10 points for impact factor between 1 & 2,15 points for impact factor between 2 & 5 and 25 points for impact factor between 5 & 10. o For example if a research paper is published in a refereed indexed journal with impact factor 3.17, than the total API score for that publication will be 15+5+15=35. In case a research paper is published in a referred indexed journal with impact factor 0.56, then the total API score for the publication will be 15+5=20. If a research paper is not published in any refereed journal but in a journal having ISSN/ISBN number, then there will not be any augmentation of points to the total points (which is 10) for such a publication. Calculation of API scores for joint publications. o In case of the 60% of API are to be distributed among more than one author, each will be allotted 60%. The same will be the rule to distribute 40% of API. • o o Books, Chapters in Books, other than Referred Journal Articles Text or reference Books published system. by International Publishers with an established peer review 50 points per sole author : In case of joint authorship, points will be equally distributed. For instance if there are THREE authors say X, Y and Z for a book then X, Y and Z will get 17 points each. 10 points per chapter in an edited book : Maximum points for writing chapters in an edited book can not be more than 50 for sole author. In case there are THREE authors writing a chapter in an edited book, then 10 points will be distributed among them and each author will get 4 points. Subjects Books by National level publishers with ISBN/ISSN numbers. 25 points per sole author: In case of joint authorship, points will be equally distributed. For instance if there are THREE authors say X, Y and Z for a book then X, Y and Z will get 9 points each. 5 points per chapter in an edited book: Maximum points for writing chapters in an edited book cannot be more than 25 for sole author. In case there are THREE authors writing a chapter in an edited book, then 5 points will be distributed among them and each author will get 2 points. Similar distribution of points for other cases under this category • o o o o • RESEARCH PROJECTS : 20 points per major projects above Rs.30 lacs (above Rs.5 lacs for Languages/ Arts/ Social Sciences/ Management/ Humanities etc.) In case a project has Co-investigators/ Co-ordinator/ Project team members then each will get 60% of the total API. 15 points per major projects above Rs.5 lacs up to Rs.30 lacs (above Rs.3 lacs up to Rs. 5 lacs for Languages/Arts /Social Sciences Management/ Humanities etc.) In case a project has Co-investigators/ Co-ordinator/ Project team members then each will get 60% of the total API. 10 points per minor projects above Rs. 50,000/- up to Rs. 5 lacs (above Rs. 25,000/- up to Rs. 3 lacs for Languages / Arts /Social Sciences / Management / Humanities etc.) In case a project has Coinvestigators/ Co-ordinator/Project team members then each will get 60% of the total API. Points for the extension period or period after completion of minimum duration of Research Project shall not be considered. TRAINING COURSES: o A Training/Refresher course of Two weeks or more will get 20 points and a one week course will be awarded 10 points. In this category, an applicant can obtain maximum 30 points. Page 34 of 35 ORAL /POSTER PRESENTATION IN CONFERENCE/SEMINAR/ WORKSHOP Paper presentation by the applicant in International conference will get 10 points; in National conference: 7.5 points. In case a paper presented is published as a full paper in a conference proceeding, then points will be given to the publication and not for the presentation. INVITED LECTURES IN CONFERENCE / SYMPOSIA o A talk delivered in an International Conference / Symposium will be awarded maximum 10 points (Due acknowledgement will be required from the host department aboard or from the organizer.) o A talk delivered in a National Conference / Symposium will be awarded maximum 5 points (Due acknowledgement will be required from the host department abroad or from the organizer.) • CAPPING o The parameters listed in table of category-III (Research and Academic contributions) shall have following capping in relation to the total API score claimed by the candidates:III (A): Research papers (Journals, etc) 30% III (B): Research publications (Books, etc) 25% III (C): Research Projects 20% III (D): Research Guidance 10% III (E): Training Courses and Conference/Seminar, etc 15% Note : Candidates are requested to submit verifiable proof as evidence for which he/she wish to claim points. In case of ambiguity or absence of such proof points claimed by the candidate shall not be considered for API. Each proof submitted shall be in proper sequence with enclosure number. If candidate submits a proof for Research Paper for Category III.A.1. Referred Journal then enclosure page number should be A1.1 for 1st paper, for 2nd paper, A1.2, for 1st paper of category III.A.2. Enclosure number A2.1 for 2nd paper A2.2 and so on for each category. Such enclosure number should be mentioned on proof enclosed with same numbers. Date of research papers should be highlighted. Following the application, each page should be numbered in sequence and should be mentioned against each claim. Page 35 of 35
