(GTU affiliated Degree engg colleges of Sankuls (Surat, Bharuch, Valsad, Navsari) are
required to participate
GTU has been consistently making efforts to ensure that every single IDP/UDP become more original
and relevant to the users. To reduce the possibility of reinventing wheel and to increase the originality
quotient
of
the
projects
we
have
introduced
some
new
approaches.
Refhttp://projects.gtu.ac.in/patentSearch.jsp , each student of current final year while submitting the
required data as a part of the project tracking and mentoring platform is required to study 5 patents
from open source domain and try to analyse them. We have arranged series of capacity building
workshops for faculty members and trained them, by now to let them better understand the process
and its relevance. As every student in final year BE is required to make the said exercise during this
month, we appeal to colleges in Surat and surrounding area (Surat, Bharuch, Valsad, Navsari –kindly
refer the link for list of colleges in these areas : https://docs.google.com/a/gtu.edu.in/file/d/0B2O_7OviZbAV0xsYnhJamdOX2M/edit?usp=drive_web) to nominate at least one faculty member from each
department for the proposed FDP workshop on 19th October 2013 (more can also attend). Any
interested faculty member from any other zone/area can also attend this workshop.
By attending this workshop, faculties can guide their students on how to study patents, what are the
questions they have to answer and from where they can get information to generate online PSAR. The
training material will be shared with all faculty members so that they can take similar sessions for all
their current final year students after going back to their colleges. We would like to see that every single
GTU affiliated Degree Engg College must ensure that the nominated faculty members get trained and
train their students afterwards.
Registration: Faculty members can self-nominate or get recommended by the college authority and
submit their names via given link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1p3Gdr65EwhTPiuxkG8giANRe8NoDdDwNT8lDhUFU4I/viewform
Objective:
By attending this workshop, faculty can guide their respective students in a better way about how to
read and study patent; how to prepare online report and how to prepare Summary of 5 related patents.
