UDISHA CLUB, SVIT Vasad
After participating in the FDP on Patent Search Methodology arranged by GTU
faculties/Udisha coordinators of SVIT Vasad takes active measure to take the learnings to
final year students of every branch to help them in improving their IDPs/UDPs.
UDISHA (Universal Development of Integrated Skills through Higher Education) club of Sardar
Vallabhhai Patel Institute of Technology (SVIT), Vasad had organized the expert lectures on
“Patent Search Methodology” on 8th, November 2012 at the main Auditorium of college. The
lectures were conducted by experts from GTU Innovation Council and IDP/UDP coordinator of
the various departments.
Honorable VC, GTU, Dr Akshai Aggarwal’s video message for all students and faculties in the
theme of patent search analysis and its implications in the prospective of efforts of GTU
Innovation Council was shown at the beginning. He wished that if every single project team in
GTU tries to improve their novelty by checking the problems and correlate them with existing
patents and other resources then certainly the novelty of each innovation will rise significantly
and it will streamline the innovations to new products and process. Dr. Aggarwal shared that
GTU Innovation Council will create a repository of all these patent analysis reports and put in
public domain which will help every student, faculty and industry to know about already done
innovations and correlate them with future needs. He extended his appeal to every single
trained faculty to take their learning to every class room so that a large no of students can
really get benefited by the efforts of IPR drive at GTU Innovation Council. He uttered that GTU
Innovation Council is committed to develop the capacities of faculties from every college from
every Sankuls so that can virtually become the innovation manager involving their students,

faculties, industries and public policy makers. Dr. Aggarwal added that GTU Innovation Council
award the best PPTs submitted by the students to corresponding colleges after related patent
search with respect to their IDPs/UDPs. He could really touch the bottom lines where every
single GTU students/faculty can take concrete measures to make the entire GTU Innovation
Council as one of the best Innovation Ecosystem in the world. He appreciated the efforts taken
by faculties who are extending their learning from various FDPs at GTU to the respective
classrooms and shared that if every single teacher make a commitment to ensure that every
single final year project done by the students must be original, innovative involve continuous
hard work then certainly the whole Indian Universities will take a note of this gigantic effort and
India can harness the potential of million technology youth every year to make the decade of
Innovation 2010-2020 a decade of learning and implementing new ideas for developing
inclusive India.
Mr. Hiranmay Mahanta , MD, Techpedia had delivered the lecture on relevant of patent
search methodology to all the final year students of SVIT, Vasad. The expert lecture was started
at 10.15 a.m. and finished at 12.00 p.m. He had delivered very inspiring and motivational
speech and ensured that given an active ecosystem GTU students can certainly set new trend in
Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He covered many topics associated to innovation and patent,
such as: present scenario of India in direction of innovation, the important and benefits of
patent registration etc. Most importantly he shared that within a very short span of time the
output that has been triggered in IPR at GTU Innovation Council is unmatchable by any state
Technical University of this scale.
Total 250 students and faculties of the various branches like: Aeronautical, Mechanical,
Electrical, Civil, Computer, Information and Technology, Electronics and Communication,
Instrumentation and Control, MCA had got benefit of the lecture.

After completing the session of the Mr. Mahanta sir, the IDP/UDP coordinator of the
each department had delivered individual lecture on “Patent Search Methodology” to the
final year students.
Every department coordinator explained and covered various aspect concerns with innovation
and patent through the POWERPOINT presentation. The three different slots were allotted to
different department.
Aeronautical, Mechanical and Electrical department had arranged the lecture from 12.15 p.m.
to 1.45 p.m. and delivered by Prof. Umang Jani, Prof. Hetal Parmar and Prof. N.K.Jaiswal
respectively.
Civil, Computer and IT department had arranged the lecture from 2.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. and
conducted by Prof. C.G.Patel, Prof. Bijal Talati and Prof. Virendra Barot respectively.
Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation and Control and MCA department arranged
the lecture from 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. and delivered by Prof. K.R.Bhatt, Prof. Ankit Shah and
Prof. Ninad Bhavsar respectively.
The full day event had been completed very satisfactory and in future we will try to register
patent from our college. After the event students shared that if they could have been trained
about such aspects even in pre final year it could have been really helpful while defining the
IDPs but simultaneously they assured that they will try their level best by using the strategies to
improve their IDPs further. They thanked the efforts of the innovation club coordinators,
faculties who instantly took steps to train every single student from each branch soon after
they attended the FDPs arranged by GTU Innovation Council on patent search methodology.

Students and faculties actively participated during this daylong session where they all agreed
that it gave new insight to improve the IDPs/UDPs by analyzing the already published patents
from all across the world. All appreciated the efforts taken by GTU Innovation Council and
Techpedia and taking the policies till every student level to let them realize their potential.
