Objective:
Main objective behind organizing this seminar was to create awareness among
students regarding IDP and UDP projects, encourage the students to do projects
effectively and enthusiastically and inform the students for GTU rules and
regulation regarding IDP-UDP project and evaluation scheme.
On the pleasant and rainy environment on 14 th of July, the seminar on “IDPUDP Initiation” starts with the inspirational speech by Prof. KartikD. Kothari,
Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering. He ensures students regarding
every type of support including search for relevant industry and financial support if
necessary.
The session followed by presentation of Prof. Chetan M. Patel. He shares his
industrial experience and tells the students about importance of academics projects
in professional career. He discussed about various technical as well as behavioral
problem which students generally faces during their academic projects and also
give solution to those problems with some examples and some motivational
videos, movie clips etc.

The seminar is followed by presentation of Prof. KeyurHirpara. Professor
gives glimpse of IDP and UDP of previous year students and shows some of the
best projects. He discuss about last year IDP-UDP companies nearby Rajkot city
and in Gujarat which supports students for their projects.

A special talk was delivered by Miss BubliKumari, H.R., Hindustan Unilever who
was on the visit of campus. She tells the students current scenario in industry, selection
procedure for campus recruitment and gave some basic tips regarding placements.

Prof. DipeshChauhan gave information regarding teaching scheme, evaluation
scheme and general guide-lines. He also shows list of various projects floated by
faculties of mechanical engineering department for the final year students.
In-between seminar, few students shares their industrial experience with their
class-mates. They talk about the work environment and work culture in industry,
difficulties they face during training period, newer technology and advanced machinery
used in industry now a days etc.

satisfactory answer by faculties.
