Government Engineering College, Bharuch is
about 1 Km from Railway Station of Bharuch. It
was established in 2004. Institute is affiliated to
Gujarat Technological University. It offers B.E
courses in Electrical, Mechanical, EC, Civil and
Chemical Engineering.
The wide spectrum of activities of the institute
are designed to enable learning and overall
development of students through a combination
of co-curricular activities like conferences,
Technical festivals, Job Fairs, Workshops, STTP
and Expert Lectures etc.
Institute is also actively engaged in cultural

INTRODUCTION
Microcontrollers are widely used in
different diversified disciplines and
applications
e.g
Automation,
Communication, Machine Control and
Monitoring,
Measurement,
Home
appliances, Medical equipment’s, Power
Monitoring and Control, Power System
Protection, Robotics and so on.
With the advancements in the field of
semiconductor devices, high-speed, highpower devices have been made available.
This has facilitated the development of
sophisticated power electronic systems for
a wide range of applications (e.g. AC
motor
drives/convertors
etc.).
Sophisticated and advanced power
electronic systems, however, need power
control techniques that can be easily
implemented, are reliable and have
flexibility. A considerable reduction in
hardware can be realized if the control
techniques
have
decision-making
capabilities. This has been made possible
by the advent of microprocessors and
microcontrollers that are both powerful
and easy to interface with systems.
Similarly with technological advancement
and completions, industries cannot
sustain
without
implementing
automation.
Microcontrollers/PLCS are a Key
element in industrial automation also.
This program aims at giving in depth
knowledge and skill development with
Microcontrollers/PLCS. Major focus will
be given to learn by more practical
approach in laboratory sessions.
Proposed course aims at skill development
and
hands
on
practice
with
Microcontroller
technology
and
applications.
Major emphasize will be given to learn
concepts of Programming, Interfacing,
and
demonstrate
Microcontroller
applications in Power Electronics and
Automation field.
Electrical department has collaborated
