Faculty of engineering Technology and Research institute conducted a
“BLOOD DONATION” camp on 20th of March, 2015. All the students, faculty
and staff members participated voluntarily in the camp. In total, 298 units of blood
were collected. This camp helped students in getting awareness about their social
responsibilities and showed enthusiastic participation for the same. The Camp
started at 10.00 a.m. and went up to 5:30 p.m. in the Evening. The camp was
jointly organized by “Shree Sardar Smarak Hospital, Bardoli" and “Satyasai Seva
Samitee, Bardoli" and “Lok Samarpan Raktadan Kendra”, Surat in the FETR
campus . The camp was under the supervision of Dr. Rajesh Patel with Dr.
Hemang Desai from Shree Sardar Smarak Hospital, Bardoli and Dr. Ila Thakrar
and Dr. Dharmesh Thakor from SMIMER hospital, Surat.
Inaugural Function
According to the information presented on the occasion, only 50 percent of
the country's blood requirement is fulfilled through such blood donation camps.
Hence, there is a need to create awareness amongst our youth for active
participation in such a noble cause.

On this occasion, Trustee Shri Babubhai V. Patel, Guest of honor Dr.
Rajeshbhai Patel (Technical Supervisor at Shree Sardar Smarak Hospital, Bardoli),
Dr .Hemang Desai (Blood bank officer Shree Sardar Smarak Hospital, Bardoli) ,
Shri Maganbhai Patel (Shree Satyasai Seva Samitee), Dr. Ila Thakrar (Pathologist
in SMIMER hospital, surat ) & Dr. Dharmesh Thakor (Medical social worker), Dr.
Latesh B. Chaudhari (Principal of FETR), Prof. Alpesh Suthar (Principal of N. G.
Patel Poly.), Dr. Parimal R. Patel (H.O.D. of H&S Dept. at N.G. Patel Poly.) along
with staff of Shree Sardar Smarak Hospital, Bardoli and SMIMER hospital,
members of Shree SatyaSai Seva Samitee, H.O.D.s, faculty members, staff
members and students and blood donors were present.
Dignitaries on the Dias
The inaugural function started at 10:00 a.m. at seminar hall of FETR,
Bardoli. Prof. Sejal M. Chauhan hosted the entire event. The function begun with
the prayer by Ms. Parthavi Narsale. The atmosphere became more divine with the
Lightening of the lamps done by the dignitaries.

Introductory Speech by Dr. Latesh B. Chaudhari (Principal of FETR)
Dr. Latesh B. Chaudhari given Introductory speech regarding the blood
donation camp. He also spoke about motivation behind the camp and about the
basic knowledge about blood donation. Dr. Parimal R. Patel provided with the
detailed speech regarding Blood donation. One of the organizers of the camp said
“We are happy to conduct such a drive in our college and we are quite surprised by
the response of the students. We wish to conduct many such events in the college
and also would make sure to conduct this camp every year in our college.” Shri
Babuka gave words of blessings to all donors. The Inaugural function finished with
the vote of Thanks given by Prof. Dharmishtha R. Chaudhari.
The Blood donation started by Dr. Latesh B. Chaudhari (Principal of FETR)
with donating of blood. The camp is organized in a very disciplined manner
checking each and every aspect of participant’s health. During the blood donation
process the hemoglobin content of the participants were checked before donating
the blood, clearly telling the participants about their health condition. Many
checkups for blood pressure and other tests were conducted by the doctors.
Refreshments were provided to the participants after donating blood.

Blood donation by Principal of FETR
After the medical check-up of the donors samples would be taken. It was
great to see more people than pre-registration numbers turning up in the venue.
This stretched the capacity of the blood bank, as a result of which the contact
details of the donors were taken so as to allow them to donate at the earliest to the
blood bank. The Blood samples were carefully sealed and transported away, while
the Student volunteers and hospital staff helped in all activities. Throughout the
morning, there were smiles and laughter all around - a true embodiment of what we
believe in - selfless service with a smile. The donors received credit card and a
certificate of recognition. Blood Donation Camp organizing committee members,
faculties, principal sir were inspecting every aspect of the camp throughout the
day.
