Carry Stay healthy Clean Do not enter animal areas if you are: - younger than 5, or 65 years or older - pregnant - have a chronic health condition Wash your hands before and after visiting animals. Carry raw meat or poultry home in appropriate containers (like bags or clean coolers). Be food safe at the home Chill Keep raw meat and polutry cold until you are ready to cook it. Freeze raw meat and poultry if you are not planning to cook it in 3 days. Separate Clean Keep raw meat and poultry away from food that won’t be cooked.
