HIGHLAND VIEW
Winter Concert
On Friday, February 5, 2016, the Highland View Winter
Concert warmed the audience and kept the festive mood
of the season alive with the spirited performances by the
Instrumental Music students and the Highland View
Chorus.
We began the evening with the instrumental portion, led
by Ms. MeLinda Ford.
The Advanced Strings, accompanied by Monica
Bridgewater and MeLinda Ford, performed “Baa Baa
Black Sheep”, “French Folk Song”, “Variations on a
Familiar Theme”, and “Pizzicadough”.
Advanced Strings
The Advanced Band delighted everyone with “Jingle
Bells”, “Ode to Joy”, “Up on a House Top”, “Jolly Old St.
Nicolas”, and “Variations on a Familiar Theme”.
We continued the evening with the chorus, led by Ms.
Sherri Pfaff, Highland View’s General Music teacher. The
audience was hooked from the beginning with “All Jazzed
Up” and “Autumnal Equinox”. They enjoyed listening to
“Winter Canon”, accompanied by the fourth and fifth
grade recorder players and fifth grade percussionists.
The chorus kept the evening lively with “Minka” and “The
Three O’Clock Rehearsal”. We concluded the evening
with “Peace Will Come”, which featured Mr. Damian
Grasso on guitar, fifth grade percussionists, and Highland
View staff choir.
Applause filled the entire room as students and families
beamed with Highland View pride at the end of these
joyful musical performances.
