MINNESOTA PARTNERSHIP FOR ADOLESCENT HEALTH OVERVIEW MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH ADVISORY TASK FORCE April 2014 What’s the purpose and goal of the Minnesota Partnership for Adolescent Health? With the support of the Maternal and Child Health Advisory Taskforce and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Community and Family Health Division, the Minnesota Partnership for Adolescent Health (MPAH) is a newly formed (est. Feb 2014) group of agencies, organizations and individuals with expertise in adolescent health and healthy youth development, with the common goal of supporting the health and development of all Minnesota youth and young adults’ ages 10-24 years old. The goal of this group is to inform the development and implementation of the next State Adolescent Health Strategic Plan that builds statewide capacity to support young people in Minnesota. The group is in the beginning stages of providing input on the state’s vision for adolescent health, and potential actions to achieve the vision in Minnesota. In the fall of 2014, this group will help finalize the vision and draft key recommendations and strategies for the plan. Whose work will this plan impact, guide and inform? • • • • Local Public Health Agencies; Tribal Communities; Youth-Serving Organizations; and State Agencies, including the Minnesota Department of Health.
