All seventh grade students will take seven courses which include:

Advanced English 7
Social Studies
Physical Education and Health
Digital Literacy 2 , World Language or Electives (see choices below)
*Alternate Course* - Course Recommendation:
Advanced English 7, science, social studies, physical education and health, and elective classes will be comprised of students at all levels.
These classes will present material with differentiation to offer students opportunities to achieve at their own level based on their current level of
achievement and effective effort. Teachers will work together to provide all students with challenges and supports to achieve class objectives.
* Alternate Courses offered for academic support include Reading, Related Math, Resource, Alt. 1, and ESOL- by recommendation only and takes
the place of one of the elective choices.
Course Selections
Current teachers have made recommendations. Parents of Hallie Wells Middle School will receive an initial course selection in May. At that time
if parents have a concern about placement, a process will be outlined to address concerns or appeals.
Please indicate your choice of elective courses below with a check mark in the space provided. Elective courses that are offered will depend
upon student enrollment and staffing allocations. Electives must be chosen carefully since changing electives cannot be guaranteed after
course registration has been completed. If you are a beginner in Band or Orchestra, enter zero years’ experience.
