Staff Appreciation Week: May 4-8, 2015
We will recognize and celebrate our staff throughout the week. You are invited to do the same. Please feel
free to send in your expressions of appreciation to your child’s teacher or other staff members to acknowledge
the great work they do every day for our students. The PTA will host a staff appreciation breakfast at
on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at 8:00 a.m.
Come celebrate El Cinco De Mayo with Cresthaven PTA friends and family! Join us for the next PTA
meeting on May 5th from 6:30—8:30. at Cresthaven ES. Please bring some food to share and be prepared for
some fun and dancing. The Springbrook High School Latin Dance Team will perform and give lessons on Salsa,
Merengue, and Bachata dancing before the meeting. Snacks, childcare and Spanish translation will be provided.
Cresthaven’s Got Talent — Talent Show May 15, 2015 6:30 –8:00 p.m.: Come out and see our STARS shine! Students
have been working hard and practicing singing, dancing, acting, and the many other talents they have in store for us in this
year’s Talent Show. Come cheer them on as we appreciate their skills and hard work!
Spring choral and Instrumental Music Concert May 19, 2015 from 7:00 –8:00 p.m. Don’t miss out on this opportunity
to hear the progress our chorus and instrumental music students have made throughout the year under the direction of Mr.
Morden and Mr. McDade.
Mark Your Calendars for International Night May 21, 2015 6:00—8:30 The Family Involvement Committee is inviting
you to participate in our International Night festivities. Bring in food and share music & games from your country and enjoy
an evening of cultural exchange. It’s always a fun experience when we taste food from around the globe while learning about
the traditions and customs of our international school community. Students will also have an opportunity to participate in a
few crafts. Please contact Mrs. Kelley-Portillo at [email protected] if you are interested in participating or if
you would like more information.
Attention Parents! A Crime has been Committed! The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Committee
(STEM) would like you to join the Cresthaven Crime Scene Investigation Team on Thursday, May 28th from 6:00—
8:00 to brush up on your detective skills and help them solve this crime. Meet the suspects, listen to their statements, review the evidence collected at the crime scene, and see if you can solve this mystery!
Calling all Volunteers! We are looking for parent/family volunteers to help during this year’s field day activities on Tuesday, June 2nd. Plan to come out and help coordinate activities and have some fun. Look for a volunteer flyer with further information to come home soon or contact Mr. Vaughn for details.

we will have several events and activities for families to enjoy.

out and celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the PTA on Tuesday, May
5th. Enjoy an evening of spectacular performances at the third annual “Cresthaven Has Talent” talent show and come out to hear our
chorus and instrumental music students showcase their musical
skills. Let’s not forget International Night. I can hardly wait to
sample food from around the world. Finally, our 3rd grade will be
participate in field trips to the National Zoo and the National Mall.
