Writing and Language
During the months of March and April, students will be writing and illustrating their own realistic fiction
picture books. They are using a problem and solution text structure, following the models we’ve
investigated in class. Students will also complete short compositions that are either informative or opinion
pieces. The focus will be on word choice and developing a topic with facts and definitions.
Science
During the months of March and April, students will:
Health

Analyze nutrition information from a variety of sources.
Engineering and Technology

Investigate conductors and insulators.
Social Studies
During the months of March and April, students will study the elements of culture from around the
world.

The temperatures vary greatly throughout our building. Please ask students to dress in layers
so that they will be comfortable in whatever room they are in.
Please check and refresh student supplies as needed.
Please remember to check the green communication folder every night. It is used to carry
important information home.
