In the Classroom
In Reading, students will analyze poetry.
Students will study the poet’s use of
imagery, similes, and alliterations. Next,
they will read stories about characters that
use resources to create goods such as
pottery.
In Writing, students will write poetry
using descriptive words and phrases. Each
student will create a collection of their
poems.
In Math, students will continue addition
with composing ten. Then, they will learn
how to do subtraction with decomposing
ten. Finally, the students will move on to
geometry to learn the attributes of shapes
and solids.
In Social Studies, students will identify
the natural, human, and capital resources
used in the production of goods. They will
examine how inventions and technology
change the way people live, work, and play.
In Science, students will explore the
stages in the water cycle. They will also
examine how electricity is used to create
