In The Classroom
In Math, the students will learn
about plane and geometric shapes. They
will also be working on fractions
(decomposing into equal parts-halves,
thirds, and fourths). They will finish up with
telling time on analog and digital clocks
(hour and half-hour).
In Reading, the students will be
focusing on comprehension of informational
and literary texts. This will include text
features, main topic/key details, as well as
story elements. The county reading tests
will be administered once again. Please
remember that your child should be
reading for fifteen minutes every night.
In writing, the students will be
working on informative/explanatory/opinion
pieces. They will continue to take their
stories through the writing process from
rough draft to final copy.
In Science the students will be
studying ways to help and protect the
environment. In Social Studies the focus will
be on Goods and Services.
