THE CLARKSBURG CHEETAH Week of February 1, 2016 THIS WEEK: February 1 - 5 Fri., Feb. 5 National School Counselor Week Hearing and Vision Testing for Kindergarten and Students new to MCPS A LOOK AHEAD: February 8 - 12 Mon., Feb 8 Bus Driver Appreciation Week Patrol Meeting with Officer Johnson, 12:45-1:15 pm Dear Clarksburg Elementary School Parents/Guardians, I want to welcome every student and teacher back from his/her second Winter Break! Our building service team did a wonderful job of getting the building ready for school. They worked tirelessly in the cold and snow to make the outside areas safe for students, parents, and staff to visit and enter the building. We continue to work very hard to clear the snow from the blacktop areas to allow students to go outside for recess. This is a HUGE task. If you have access to some substantial snow moving equipment, please let me know. We could use all of the help that we can get! This newsletter contains a lot of information. Please see the updated/revised lunch menu for next week. It also includes information regarding two upcoming programs that I am planning to attend. The first is a “Courage is Colorless” program being hosted by Rocky Hill Middle School. The second is the MCPS Lunar New Year Banquet hosted by the League of Educators for Asian American Progress (LEAAP). Please let me know if you plan on attending the Lunar New Year Banquet because if we have ten people going to the event from our school, I can request a table so that we can all celebrate together. Please see the additional information below to learn about more of the exciting things that we are doing and the Montgomery County Public School system is offering. Contact the office if you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely, Carl Bencal Principal 1 Clarksburg Elementary Text Reminders for Parents!
