DISCUSSIONS AND DECISIONS.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the revisions made to options 1 through 4 as discussed at work
session #2:
1. General comments and decisions:
a. Option 1, 2 and 5 will move forward for further development.
b. Each option will be placed on two site layouts. One with two entrances off of River Road and the
second showing only the existing entrance.
c.
The computer lab should be adjacent to the media center in all options.
d. Show more future classrooms. 4 at an addition and 4 portables if possible.
e. Staging for drop off/ pickup is at the multipurpose room. Consider use when locating entrances.
2. Option 1:
a. Classroom bar should slide to the left to create a “T” configuration to address concerns of
distance and hall congestion.
b. Administration is to move to the classroom bar at the River Road side, media art and music suites
are to slide down to the plan south.

c.

Kindergarten classrooms are to move to the left to be at the intersection of wings.
d. Parking along the River Road side should be double loaded.
3. Option 2:
a. Eliminate space between kindergarten classrooms.
b. Provide a second courtyard access between the computer lab and classroom.
c.
Kindergarten would be improved if classrooms are located at the intersection near the future
classrooms.
d. Classrooms should be clustered together.
4. Option 4:
a. Long hallways
b. Proximity of wings is not desirable.
c.
Distance between wings and length of travel distances make a connection on the plan east side
necessary. Connecting wings makes the plan similar to Option 2.
d. This option is eliminated from further study.
5. Option 5:
a. Kindergarten classrooms are to be relocated to the left side of the new classroom wing, adjacent
to the gymnasium.
