Notes:
SD4.1
Mr. Parker summarized the previous meeting. Specifics are available as part of the previous meeting notes.
Revisions are noted below.
SD4.2
Mr. Parker discussed the presentation to be given to the PTA. The PTA meeting will be a presentation, not
a workshop. The design team will provide a 15/20 minute presentation of the design to the PTA.
Participant members will have feeder schools announce the presentation at their meetings next week.
Another presentation will be made to the community at the end of the Construction Document phase to
show the design as it exists going to bid.
SD4.3
Mr. Parker explained the process of the BOE approval of the schematic design. The principal and a
member of the community will be asked to represent the community to the BOE.
SD4.4
A presentation was given by the Architect. A copy is attached to these notes.
SD4.5
A revised site plan was shown. One way traffic pattern thru the main parking area creates greater car
stacking distance. This creates a sizeable retaining wall at the southwest corner of the parking lot. The
entrance to the parking lot/student drop/off loop will be a three vehicle wide entry. Staff parking has been
added in the bus loop area. Pedestrian access will be provided from both Skylark Road and Little Seneca
Parkway. Internal cross country paving will be provided. An area for a future community garden was also
shown. North/South building orientation is maintained. Revisions from the last meeting included the
addition of a sidewalk on the south side of the parking lot, a skinned infield area at the baseball field, and
addition of benches at the baseball field.
SD4.6
The following revisions were recommended by the participants. The sidewalk from the bus loop to the
main entrance should be straighten out to facilitate student walking patterns. A fence should provided
between the bus loop and the student drop/off loop for student safety.
SD4.7
Plan modifications were shown. The classroom wing was reorganized and stacked evenly on all floors.
Guidance was relocated to the opposite side of the east/west corridor and given an entrance onto the main
entry corridor. The additional auxiliary gym was added adjacent to the other auxiliary gyms. Teacher
planning areas are shown as a combined space per floor to increase the size of the rooms. Technology and
Multipurpose labs were relocated to the opposite side of the corridor from their previous location. The
Bridge program was incorporated where the staff lounge was in the previous design. The program area for
the staff lounge has been divided up to allow for a staff dining area on the first floor, and a staff lounge area
on the third floor. The two additional science labs were provided on the third floor. Revisions included
further development of the administration and guidance areas, the bridge program, the kitchen area, and the
central core spaces. Restrooms sizes at the media center (second floor) and directly below were reduced to
allow second exits from the media center and the Multipurpose Lab. The option to revise the cafeteria

orientation is included.
SD4.8
The participants had no comments on the floor plans.
SD4.9
Modified character sketches of the potential building elevations were presented. These included the three/
window per classroom scheme. Revisions included extending the canopies at the stair exits and
modification to the bridge program elevation. The east and north elevations were also shown.
SD4.10 The following revisions were recommended by the participants. The main entrance canopy should be
extended overhangs around to the first exit from the Cafeteria, to provide cover from inclement weather
and increase visibility to the student drop/off loop. An entrance element or canopy should be provided on
the Skylark entrance to the main corridor (north side of the building).
SD4.11 Consensus was reached on the site, building plan and elevation design direction from the participants. No
additional workshops are necessary.
