The MPS PhD student community gathered on 3 May for the fourth annual
MPS Postgraduate Research Day. The day consisted of short talks from
students on their research, in addition to a poster competition.
Poster prizes, judged by Prof Peter Coles and Prof James Hirschfeld, were

1st place and ‘people’s choice’: Anna Webb ‘Trapped ion quantum

2nd place Philip Townsend: ‘Numerical simulation of flood inundation

option pricing in stochastic volatility models with jumps’
The Sussex Impact Day is returning. This year’s
event takes place on Tuesday 14 June and is
