Procedures for Admission and Registration for Foundation Students:
Fill out a “Student Interest Form.” (See Mrs. Johnson in the Foundations Office, Room
1116)
Apply online to Montgomery College (MC) at http://cms.montgomerycollege.edu/
EDU/DepartmentForm.aspx?ekfrm=50738
Obtain an unofficial transcript from your home school counselor and turn it into
Mrs. Johnson.
Sign up for and take Accuplacer or ESL Accuplacer. Achieve required reading and
English levels for the Construction Management (CM) course.
Be admitted to the CM course (see step 6) OR appeal (see step 7).
If you are admitted:
 Obtain an “Early Placement Approval Form” and “Early Placement Registration/
Schedule Change Form” from Mrs. Johnson.
 Obtain required signatures on “Early Placement Approval Form” from your
parent/guardian, home school counselor, and home school principal.
 If you have not already done so, acquire an unofficial transcript from your home
school counselor.
 Complete the EMAP orientation by going to:
www.montgomerycollege.edu/emap/ and print out a copy of certificate of
completion.
 Turn in ALL completed paper work to Mrs. Johnson in the Foundations Office.
7) If you appeal (due to GPA and/or Accuplacer scores not meeting requirements):
 Obtain an unofficial transcript from your home school counselor and submit it to
Mrs. Johnson, if you have not already done so.
 Mrs. Johnson will schedule interviews with Mario Parcan, Program Coordinator,
for the Construction Management program at MC.
 You MUST meet with Professor Parcan prior to obtaining acceptance.
 If you are admitted, obtain an “Early Placement Approval Form” and “Early
Placement Registration/Schedule Change Form” from Mrs. Johnson in the
Foundations Office.
 Obtain required signatures on “Early Placement Approval Form” from your
parent/guardian, home school counselor and home school principal.

Eligibility Requirements
For standard admission into the Early Placement Program, students who are at
least 16 years old:
1. Have an articulated plan for high school and college attendance during their junior and/or
senior years which will include all courses required for high school graduation with time
remaining in the schedule to include college courses.
3. Have an overall 3.0 (unweighted on a 4 point scale) cumulative grade point average at the end
of their sophomore year or an overall 2.75 (unweighted on a 4 point scale) cumulative grade
point average at the end of their junior year (verified by an unofficial copy of their high school
transcript).
4. Have met the prerequisite requirement(s) and assessment level(s) for each credit-bearing
course they enroll in. Early Placement students may not enroll in developmental courses or
courses that combine developmental and college level work. EP students must test beyond
Pathways (53+ ACCUReading) to be eligible to take any college courses.
5. Have the approval of a parent (or guardian), high school counselor, and the principal.
Purpose
Select students accepted to MC are enrolled in college courses while still attending high school,
providing an educational experience beyond what is available at the secondary level.
The Early Placement Program enables high school students to:



Register and attend a Montgomery College course(s) on campus, online or at their high
school site
Graduate from high school with earned college credit
Potentially save money on college tuition
Students may enroll in a variety of courses at the college, provided they meet the Early Placement
criteria. The credits earned may be applied to a degree program at Montgomery College or may
potentially be transferred to another institution.
