Dr. Maser, chai man, reported progress of the special Committee on
Study of the Fa ul ty Council.
He: said the committee, first composed of six m bers;-had been enlarged to tuelve by the addition
of younger staf member s . He introduced the cammi ttee members
present.
He ou lined the procedure that had been followed by the
committee in ga-hering the necessary basic information.
This
included consul ine; the voluminou.s minutes and records of the
special committ e t.hat formulated. the recommendations under
Hhich the Facul y C'ouncil was first organized in 1945. He spoke
of a questionna re which the comnt ttee sent to younger staff
members to dete mine their attitude on certain points. He read
