We are also indebted to the many state agency staff, especially the analysts with the Center for Health Statistics at the Minnesota Department of Health, for their tireless work on making these data available. ii 2007 MINNESOTA STUDENT SURVEY Survey Participation The 2007 Minnesota Student Survey was administered in the spring of 2007 to students in juvenile correctional facilities. Student participation was voluntary and surveys were anonymous. The secondary (9th and 12th grade) version of the survey was used. Items on the Tables The accompanying set of tables includes the responses for all survey items. Items are ordered within the tables according to meaningful domains; the order items appear on the tables is not necessarily the order they appeared in the survey. A Table of Contents is provided on page iv. New Questions and Year-to-Year Comparisons Some of the 2007 survey instrument questions were changed from the 2004 survey instrument. While many questions stayed the same, there were questions that had updated or improved wording. Some entirely new questions were added and some questions were dropped. New questions and questions with changed wording are noted on each table. Caution must be used when making comparisons over time for any questions in which the wording has changed. Please note that although these surveys are given repeatedly over time, student populations may change between administrations of the survey.
