Release Notes for Cisco UCS Invicta C3124SA Appliance, Version 5.0.1.2c Contents Introduction System Requirements Upgrade Installation Notes Caveats Obtaining Documentation and Submitting a Service Request Introduction This document describes open and resolved caveats for the Cisco UCS Invicta C3124SA Appliance. The ID numbers listed in the caveat tables in this document refer to a legacy system numbering scheme. Those numbers will not be found in the CDETs system, except where noted. Note: Future communications regarding Cisco UCS Invicta and legacy Whiptail product software releases and field notices will come through the Cisco Notification Service (CNS). Registration is required to receive messages through this service. CNS can be set up to provide updates for any Cisco product. Instructions for enabling updates for Cisco Invicta Series can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/invict a/cns/settingupcns.pdf. System Requirements This release supports the Cisco UCS Invicta C3124SA Appliance only. Note: Before an upgrade to the Cisco UCS Invicta OS 5.0.1.2c service pack can take place, the following pre-requisites must be met: Ensure that all Cisco Invicta UCS Invicta C3124SA Appliance hardware is running HUU release version 2.0(3i). I/O to the storage device must be quiesced prior to the upgrade installation. Ensure that there are no scheduled snapshots during the upgrade. Ensure that the Invicta OS 5.0.1.2b for Cisco UCS C3124A Appliance is installed. Check the RAID device health using the Invicta Appliance GUI as well as the RAID of the SDs via CIMC to make sure that there are no degraded RAID devices. Contact TAC if there is a degrade RAID. A system reboot is required after the update is completed. Note: HUU 2.0(3i) addresses a memory leak issue where the user was unable to access Cisco IMC using SSH or HTTP. However, pinging Cisco IMC was successful. Caution Should you encounter any error or issue during the upgrade process, please contact technical support before trying to uninstall the update. Attempting to uninstall could potentially cause issues with your device. Enhance the WSP to check that pre-requisite is satisfied by ensuring Appliance is running v5.0.1.2b before upgrading to v5.0.1.2c. Open Caveats Table 2 Open Caveats Legacy Defect Knowledge Summary ID Issue Occasionally, in the event of multiple servers rebooting at the same time or switch/UCS-FI reboot, Multipath SAN booted Linux based servers 5858 Fibre (Red Hat 7.0, SLES 12 [CSCus64952] Channel especially) may show some (not all) paths missing. Sometimes, in the case of an Invicta Appliance reboot, similar symptoms may be seen as well. Unable to release the reserve LV in the GUI 5303 Lun when VG is in out of space condition. Workarounds Use the utility 'issue_lip' and/or 'scan' to recover from a host reboot path loss. For an Appliance reboot path loss issue, try performing a host reboot individually. In excessive IO conditions, management operations like LUN mapping will have a degraded response time. When multiple users issue concurrent configuration changes to snapshots or Async replication, configuration or operation of these features can become unresponsive. OpenSSL Vulnerability CVE2014-3513, CVE2014-3567, CVE2014-3568 ESX VMotion and storage VMotion operations between two Cisco UCS Invicta C3124SA Appliances might result in failures under heavy I/O load conditions. Stale entry of the lun in GUI after bulk deletion Remove unnecessary Snapshots to improve performance. Perform management operations during off peak hours. Avoid concurrent configuration changes with multiple users. No workaround is available at this time. Reduce the I/O load when performing VMotion operations to avoid this condition. No workaround available at this time.
