Tuesday, July 19 9:00‐10:00 10:00‐11:00 12:00‐1:00 MBHS Jill Lassiter from Bridgewater College presents: Get Your Move On! Learning doesn't need to just happen when sitting at a desk. There are so many ways to bring physical activity into the classroom to reinforce concepts and facilitate interdisciplinary learning opportunities. This session will include a variety of strategies for incorporating movement in the elementary classroom. Be prepared to MOVE! The session will begin with a brief, 3‐5 minute, review of research supporting the connections between movement/physical activity and learning. Participants will then be led through various examples of learning experiences that use physical movement to reinforce math, reading, science, social studies, and art concepts. Each activity will be connected to a learning outcome and lesson objective. The session will also include the opportunity for participants to share their own strategies or experiences related to interdisciplinary learning and physical activity.
