What is your story – What is the OSU story This review helps to determine if our message is reaching students in the way we intended for the purpose of helping OSU present a strong identity and sense of community. _________________________________________________ Department: Purpose: • Gain evidence of expressed values for individual and collective units within Student Affairs • Gain an understanding of gaps between stated values and expressed values • Gain an understanding of student perceptions regarding values for OSU • Gain a clear direction in how to better communicate our common values to the campus community. Overview: 1. Visit department once or twice, record impressions, take photographs, review the website and outreach material 2. Reflect on values you saw expressed in the space and communication materials - Review sample values on page 3 for inspiration 3. Study stated Student Affairs Values on page 4 4. Complete evaluation rubric of stated Student Affairs Values on page 5 1. Visit the Department: 1 Visit the department at least once – twice if environment changes during the day. What and who do you notice? (age, ethnicity, gender, etc.). What are staff and visitors doing? How does this space feel (inviting, cramped, etc.)? Use your five senses to observe the space.
