Semester Conversion Office - Weekly Update
INFO
•
Co-op course numbering has been enhanced to include term designations which will allow
departments to record the length of co-op terms in the semester calendar. A four-character code
composed of 3 digits followed by a letter will be used, where the letter will be used to distinguish
among various lengths of co-op terms. This new co-op designation system does not replace the
Registrar's co=op designation, it compliments it. Details can be found in the Semester Conversion's
Recent Changes area dated 12.14.10.
•
The new Institute Writing Committee website contains information about the RIT Writing Policy and
the process for designating writing intensive courses, including a list of questions that have
been frequently asked of the committee. We hope that faculty and staff will find the information
useful as they go through the semester conversion process.

TEACHING AND LEARNING SERVICES
As the quarter to semester conversion process unfolds, many faculty members are now working on course level
changes. Converting your course can be challenging but you can get help at Teaching & Learning Services on the A level
of The Wallace Center (A650).
We have walk-in hours:
Thursdays, 1PM – 3PM
Fridays, 9AM - 11AM
Our staff of Instructional Design Consultants offer consultations on course (re)design and other conversion issues
without an appointment.
TLS is also the place to confer with faculty colleagues on course conversion or to work on your course in a quiet,
technology-enabled environment.
