Semester Conversion Office - Weekly Update
INFO
•
The ICC met on Monday, September 12 and discussed the Minor Policy. They are very close to having a policy
that they can begin to take through the approval process and hope to disseminate it to the campus community
in time for reviews of individual minors to begin by November 1.
•
NYSED has approved 54 academic programs. The list of converted programs approved by NYSED is posted on the
Calendar Conversion website: https://www.rit.edu/conversion/facstaff_redesign.php.
•
Academic Senate has approved 173 academic programs. The list of converted programs approved by Academic
Senate is posted on the Calendar Conversion website:
https://www.rit.edu/conversion/media/documents/ApprovedProgramsbySenate.pdf.
INCOMING Q & A:
Q: After conversion to semesters, how will quarter credit hrs earned during quarter calendar display on
transcripts?
A: There will not be a change to the display of credit hours per course earned during quarter calendar. For
transition students, the transcript will still reflect 4 quarter credit hours (if that is what is earned) for the
course successfully completed. Semester credit hours will be reflected only in the cumulative total of credits
earned.
