AT A GLANCE
The Collegiate Science and Technology
Entry Program is funded by the New York
State Department of Education for the
purpose of increasing the number of
historically underrepresented and/or
economically disadvantaged undergraduate
and graduate students pursuing a career in
science, mathematics, technology or a New
York State licensed profession.
CSTEP
ACADEMIC PROGRAMS & SERVICES
A hallmark of RIT-CSTEP is the academic and social support
networks we provide for program participants. These services
are intended to complement a student’s major degree program.
RIT-CSTEP provides opportunities for students to take advantage of the following proven retention services:
MCAS Summer Bridge Participation
A four-week pre-freshmen summer academic enrichment program that consists of credit-bearing courses, exposure to research, and community service programs.
Tutoring
Free one-on-one tutoring will be provided for students
who request individual assistance.
Peer Mentoring
Lower-classmen are paired with upper-classmen, meet biquarterly and include Artesano’s coffee and snacks.
Faculty Mentoring
Students will be matched with a CSTEP faculty mentor aimed
to academically and professionally support and prepare CSTEP
student success.
Student Research
Research opportunities and faculty pairings are sought for students interested in obtaining research experience and include a
research stipend.
CSTEP Mission:
Our mission is to encourage individuals
from underrepresented groups to pursue
careers related to science, technology,
mathematics and the New York State
licensed professions, increase the retention of our students in their chosen field
of study and successfully transition them
into a graduate program or career in a
CSTEP targeted field.
Students who wish to enroll in RITCSTEP must be:
