Chainsaw

Minimize Your Exposure to Injury
from Chainsaw Kick-Back
Chainsaw Kick-Back injuries can be painful and costly.
Reduce the chance of kick-back by observing
these safety reminders and
cautions:
Properly inspect and maintain the
chain saw.
Keep the chain brake, throttle trigger
interlock and other safety features
operating as the manufacturer
intended at all times.
Hold the saw firmly with both
hands and maintain a sure grip;
this is done with the thumbs and
fingers of both hands encircling
the handles during operation.
Avoid cutting overhead or boring with the tip of the bar.
Keep the chain
sharp. A dull
chain is a
hazardous chain.
Wear approved
leg protection and
PPE when
operating a chainsaw.
Discard and replace damaged or worn out leg protection.
