Radford, Va. - Dedmon Center - 7 p.m.
Today’s Game
Liberty (17-10, 13-5 Big South) will play its next-to-last regular-season contest Thursday
evening, when the Lady Flames travel across the Commonwealth to face Radford (7-20,
5-13 Big South). Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Dedmon Center, as the Lady Flames
attempt to complete a regular-season sweep of the Highlanders.
The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines
1) Liberty will look to keep its hopes for a Big South regular-season title alive with a victory. If the Lady Flames defeat Radford, they will move into a tie for second place in the
conference standings, one game behind the winner of Thursday’s High Point at Winthrop
contest.
2) Both Liberty and Radford are trending in the right direction heading into the Big South
Women’s Basketball Championship. The Lady Flames have won three straight games
and five of the last six outings. Meanwhile, Radford is 4-3 in its last seven contests.
3) The Lady Flames and Highlanders have been prominent fixtures throughout the history
of the Big South Women’s Basketball Championship, combining to win 24 of the tournament’s 27 titles.
4) Three-point shooting could be important during Thursday’s matchup. A stretch of eight
straight made three-pointers keyed Liberty’s victory over Winthrop on Saturday. Meanwhile, Radford’s Ayana Avery ranks eighth nationally in three-pointers made.
5) Liberty’s Ashley Rininger is the reigning Big South Player of the Week, garnering the
honor for the third time this season. She played well against Radford on Dec. 7, totaling
18 points and a career-high 15 rebounds during Liberty’s victory.

Amazing Ashley
Redshirt sophomore forward/center Ashley Rininger earned her third Big South Player
of the Week honor this season on Monday. She is the first conference player to win the
award three times this year.
• Rininger won the award by notching double-doubles against UNC Asheville and Winthrop last week. She has now tallied a Big South-best 15 double-doubles in 2013-14,
which is the most ever by a sophomore in program history.
• The only Lady Flames who have ever posted more than 15 double-doubles in a season
are Katie Feenstra and Avery Warley, both of whom went on to play in the WNBA.
Competing Against the Commonwealth
Liberty will close out the regular season with road matchups against in-state foes Radford
(Thursday) and Longwood (Saturday). The Lady Flames have won three consecutive
games against Commonwealth opponents, improving to 3-2 versus in-state opposition
this season.
Bombs Away!
Three-point shooting played a key role in Liberty’s 80-69 victory over Winthrop on Saturday, as the Lady Flames made 9-of-16 triples for 56.3 percent. Liberty made an incredible
eight straight three-point attempts to finish the opening half.
• With 146 three-pointers this season, the Lady Flames are within striking distance of the
program single-season record of 173 triples set a year ago.
• Liberty is scorching the nets from beyond again the arc this season despite the fact that
102 of last year’s triples were made by graduating seniors.

Notes/Highlights
• One of Liberty’s team captains for the 2013-14 season
• Needs 10 points to reach 500 for her career
• Ranks 19th in program history with 62 career three-pointers made
• Shot 3-of-3 from three-point range during the first half of Saturday’s victory over Winthrop, putting her at 50 percent (6-of-12) from beyond the arc during the last three games.
She also eclipsed the 300-career assist mark during the contest, becoming the first Lady
Flame to do so since Allyson Fasnacht graduated with 326 career assists in 2008.
• Hauled in a career-high nine rebounds at Winthrop on Jan. 16, while playing a seasonhigh 35 minutes. It was the most boards by a Liberty point guard since Daina Staugaitiene
collected nine caroms versus DePaul in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on
March 22, 2005.
• Played one of her best games of the season on Jan. 11 against Presbyterian College,
tallying 16 points and five assists. She shot 4-of-4 from the free throw line during the final
1:04 to help seal the victory.
• Set career highs for points (17) and three-pointers made (4) while collecting seven rebounds against Richmond on Dec. 3. Frazier had made two triples in a game 15 times
before doubling that total against the Spiders.
• Made a successful return from a Feb. 16, 2013 knee injury during the season opener at
Charlotte (Nov. 8). Frazier started and played 29 minutes against the 49ers.
