It was just one off of the sophomore’s career high. • All 13 Liberty players in uniform saw action, including freshman Audrey Rettstatt, who made her collegiate debut. As a result, the Lady Flames scored 17 bench points to Coastal Carolina’s 13. It was the 17th time this season that Liberty has recorded more bench points than its opponent. • Ashley Rininger led Liberty in both points (13) and rebounds (10) for her 13th doubledouble of the season and the 16th of her career. She tied Megan Frazee for the Liberty sophomore-class record for most double-doubles in a season. • Katelyn Adams added 12 points, seven rebounds and a game-high three blocked shots. It was the 20th time in 22 games this season that she has pulled down seven or more boards. • Emily Frazier finished with 10 points and four assists, scoring in double figures for the first time since the UNC Asheville game on Jan. 18. Stellar Sophomores • Liberty’s five sophomores (Katelyn Adams, Sadalia Ellis, Jaymee Fisher-Davis, Catherine Kearney and Ashley Rininger) are playing an important role for the Lady Flames during the 2013-14 season. • The sophomores are scoring 56.5 percent of Liberty’s points this season, averaging 39.9 points per game. • Ashley Rininger is leading the way, having improved significantly upon her numbers from 2012-13. She is averaging a team-high 15.5 ppg this season, after scoring 6.9 ppg a year ago. Rininger was named Big South Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Dec. 2 and 23. Shortage of Losing Streaks Last week, Liberty lost back-to-back games to Big South opponents (High Point and Campbell). It was the first time since Feb. 20 and 22, 1997 that the Lady Flames dropped consecutive contests to Big South foes, including regular-season and tournament games. • During that span, Liberty played 288 conference games and won 15 Big South championships. • The Lady Flames have still not lost three straight Big South tilts since ending the 1995-96 campaign with five Big South setbacks in a row (Feb. 17-March 7, 1996).
