CONTRACT
1. StudentsacceptedtothePaintBranchHighSchoolAcademyofScience&MediaInternship
Programmusthaveagradepointaverage(GPA)ofatleast3.0.ThisGPAmustbemaintained
throughouttheinternship,andstudentswhofailtodosowillberemovedfromtheprogramand
scheduledforafullacademicday.
2. Eachstudentintheprogrammustcompletetherequirednumberofinternshiphourseachweek
basedonthenumberofperiodsreleasedandthenumberofschooldayseachweekinorderto
earncredit.
Ifastudentisabsentfromtheseminarorinternship,pleaseseeMs.Candia(SignatureOffice)tomake
certainthattheabsenceisexcusedanddiscusshowtheabsencewillbemadeup.

3. Studentsmustsignouteachday.Asign‐outsheetwillbelocatedontheInternshipbulletin
boardlocatedoutsidetheSignatureOffice.Failuretosignoutwillresultinsuspensionor
expulsionfromtheprogram.
4. StudentsmustcompleteallofthefollowingpaperworkBEFOREbeginningtheinternship

5. Seminarsaremandatoryandstudentsmustarriveontime.Therewillbeatardysign‐insheetfor
studentswhoarrivelate.Attendanceispartoftheinternevaluation.
6. StudentswillberequiredtocompletetheIntern’sWeeklyLogandTimeSheet,seminar
presentations,aSeniorProjectandotherassignments.Alloftheseactivities,inadditiontothe
sponsor’sassessmentwillbepartoftheevaluationprocess.
7. InternshipinformationwillbepostedontheInternshipbulletinboard.Itistheresponsibilityof
theinterntocheckthisarearegularly,aswellase‐mailforannouncementsandotherinformation.
8. On‐sitevisitsbyMs.Candiaareunannounced.Ifastudentisnotonsiteasexpectedwithoutsound
cause,orfailstheon‐siteevaluation,he/shewillbesubjecttoconsequenceswhichmayinclude,
butmaynotbelimitedto,thefollowing:detention,additionalprojects/assignments,
parent/guardianconference,suspensionorremovalfromtheinternshipprogram.
9. Eachstudentmustmeettheexpectationsoftheinternshipprogramandfollowdirectionsof
his/hersponsor.Ifastudenthasaconcernaboutthetasksassigned,ortherelationshipwiththe
sponsor,he/shemustseeMs.Candia.
10. Eachstudentintheinternshipprogramisresponsibleforhis/herowntransportationandmust
leavetheschoolcampuswithinfiveminutesoftheendofthelastscheduledinstructionalperiod
unlesshe/shehasadatedandsignedpassfromaPaintBranchstaffmemberindicating
permissiontobeonschoolgroundsbeyondthattime.Studentsareallowedtoreturntoschoolif
theyareinvolvedinaschool‐sponsoredactivity,butnotafter2:10orthetimedesignatedfor
theactivity.
