These classes are designed for students who, with additional mathematics instruction, will be able to maximize their potential to be successful in an Algebra class next school year. Students will receive instruction on content that is essential to future success in algebra. However, completion of a Focus on Mathematics course does not mean your child will automatically be enrolled in an above-level class in the fall. Participants will receive support to increase skills for success in whichever mathematics class they are enrolled for the 2016-17 school year. Emphasis will be on enabling students to make the transition in thinking from concrete to abstract experiences, using a variety of modes of learning to meet individual student needs and learning styles. $75 This three-week program will be held July 5–July 22, 2016.
