Welcome to Your
First Day of 6th Grade!!
Rocky Hill School Day: The school day begins at 8:15 am and ends at 3:00 pm. Students
may enter the building at 7:50 am.
Bus Routes: Know your bus route number (it is a four-digit number beginning with “2”).
Even if you get a ride to school on the first morning you will need to know your route
number in order to ride the correct bus home after school.
Suggested Supplies: Bring all your suggested binder supplies (notebook paper, dividers, 5
single subject spirals, pencils, pencil pouch etc) on the first day. You will not receive a
locker until the second day of school. Everything you bring to school on the first day will
have to be carried with you throughout the day.
Lunch: Bring a lunch, cash, or a check payable to Rocky Hill Middle School that will be
deposited into your account. All checks submitted in the morning will be recorded before
lunchtime on the first day. It is encouraged that students bring their lunch the first week
due to long lines as students learn our cafeteria procedures.
Snack: Student are encouraged to bring a healthy snack each day. 6th grade eats lunch
late in the day and students will be allowed to have a mid-morning snack
Attitude: Relax! Your teachers will be there to greet you in the dining room on the first
morning and lead you to your classes. They are experts at helping new students find their
way at Rocky Hill and look forward to meeting you on August 31st.
