Richard Montgomery General PTSA Meeting Tuesday, April 21, 2015 Nancy called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. A quorum was established. Introductions were made. Attendance: Available upon request Minutes: Belinda made a motion to approve the March 17th minutes. Chris seconded. All in favor. Treasurer's Report: Lori presented. The financial report was through the end of March. We have a healthy cash account right now. *We are currently seeking Post Prom donations. We are behind in fundraising. Currently, we have about $2,000 when we should be around $4,500/$5,000. *There were no new brick donations. A brick can be purchased for $65.00. Four lines can be inscribed on the brick to be displayed outside of school. This is a way to memorialize students' efforts. This should be advertised with graduation approaching. Fliers could be send to alert the senior parents. There is a purchase form on the RM website. Staff Appreciation: On March 26, there were coffee/sweets available to the staff. *Students can write thank you notes to the staff during lunch this week for Teacher Appreciation. *There will be food served at the May 4 staff meeting. We need raffle donations. Carmen's will offer 20% off and no delivery fee. *There will be a staff breakfast on May 6. Einstein Bagels will deliver and set up for $800.00. Hot egg sandwiches will be available. *A grab-n-go graduation breakfast will be available to the staff on June 4. Board Nominations for Next Year: These do not have to be announced until ten days prior to the May PTST meeting. *Nancy will remain as President. Belinda will remain as first president and Chris will remain as fourth president. A second and third president are needed. A Treasurer and two Secretaries have stepped up. *We will vote on this slate at the May meeting. New Business: Career Day was a huge success and should be a PTSA committee. *MYP, the parents didn't work out as well as hoped. When it expanded to the entire tenth grade, it made it more confusing. However, 80-85% of sophomores did complete it. Splitting up the responsibilities amongst the staff seemed to work well. The connection between staff and parents needs to be made stronger. The school will decide what they need/want and will let us know. MYP is not graded, but it does show up on a transcript. Meeting Adjourned at 8:15. Minutes Respectfully Submitted by Anne Simcox
