 Parents, if you want to enroll your child in Richard Montgomery High School for the
2016-2017 school year, please call 301-610-8050 to make an appointment. Open
Enrollment meetings are held in the Counseling Office, Room 141. They are by
appointment only.
The following documents are required to enroll:
 Proof of identity of the parent of guardian. All guardianship cases will be referred to
the Residency Compliance Unit.
 In the case of single parent families, a copy of the custody document.
 Birth certificate, hospital certificate, or passport/visa of the student confirming
birthday and the names of the parents.
 Immunization record of the student (3 DPT/ TB; OPV; Rubella; Mumps, and two
doses Measles Vaccine after first birthday; TB clearance for the students who have
been out of the US for nine months or longer).
 Student’s transcript or report card from the previous school.
 A copy of IEP or 504 Plan, if applicable.
 Proof of residency (one of the following should apply):
o Homeowners must provide either:
 A Property Tax Bill for the current year or the
 Settlement Statement if home was recently purchased.
o Renters (Real Estate Company or Apartment Rental Office):
 Current lease and current utility bill.
o Private Renter (all 3 proofs are required):
 Proof that landlord is owner (current property tax bill and utility bill).
 Notarized statement from landlord that both student and parent reside at
this address.
 3 proofs that the parent resides at the address (W-2 form; voter
registration card; income tax return; bank statement; pay stub; driver’s
license; SS adm or similar official correspondence).
o Shared Housing (all 3 proofs are required):
 Same requirements as “private renter” above
 If the student is a non-citizen, evidence that the student has been cleared through the
International Student Admissions Office.
 If the student is coming from another MCPS school during the school year, a clearance
sheet from the previous school must be presented showing withdrawal grades and the
status of any obligations.
