Grading
Wheaton students are
Responsible
1. The final grade for the quarter is
calculated by:
40% Formative— classwork, practice
labs, quizzes, graded HW
50% Summative— Labs, tests
10% Homework— checked HW,
online practice labs
2. All assignments will be either
summative or formative. Summative
assignments cannot be retested or
resubmitted. An assignment will be
clearly named with its category
(summative—SUM, formative—FOR),
the number of points available and due
date/deadline. Grading rubrics will be
provided when applicable.
3. Late work received before the deadline
will be reduced by 10% of its point
value. Unless agreed by teacher, no
work will accepted after the deadline.
4. It is the STUDENT’S responsibility to
make arrangements with the instructor
to complete assignments missed due
to lateness or absences, excused or
unexcused. All assignments must be
completed regardless of excused/
unexcused attendance.
5. Missed assignments that can still be
submitted will receive a (Z) ZERO until
the final deadline. Complete and
submit the missing assignment form.
6. Work reasonably attempted will
receive no grade lower than 50% of
the total points available. Work not

7. Copying or submission of other
students’ work will NOT be tolerated.
This includes internet resources.
All parties involved will receive a (0)
ZERO on the assignment and may

There will be a final exam for semester A
during the school-wide exam week in
January.
