English Students of the 2nd Quarter
Colin Hrenko is an Inquirer.
Colin demonstrates the IB Learner
trait of Inquirer by his deep
curiosity about the topics we’re
studying in World Religions and IB
Literature. He asks clarifying
questions to truly understand
actions and beliefs and he is open
to fully exploring various facets of
a text.
Cindy Quach is a Risk Taker.
She makes a concerted effort to
push herself out of her comfort zone
and contribute regularly in class. She
takes initiative and asks clarifying
questions to make sure that she has
a full understand of the material
before she begins assignments. She
takes feedback into account, and has
shown tremendous improvement in
her argumentative writing. She’s a
quiet leader during group work,
guiding her group back on
task when they get off
topic.
Science Students of the 2nd Quarter
Akash Kumar is Principled.
Akash has shown himself to be a
developing leader in the
classroom. He works well with all
students, encourages their
participation in group activities,
and is willing to explain concepts
to any member of the class,
whether in his group or not.

Balanced.
Chinenye balances basketball
and her academics well with a
focus on academics. She uses
her time efficiently during lunch
to get extra help or clear up
confusion in her classes. This
allows her to be present during
her practices and contribute
effectively to the team.

Vera Bzihilyanskaya is an
Inquirer.
Vera is always asking questions to
make sure she has the full
understanding of the material.
Jose Rodriguez is Caring.
First quarter, he received an A in
Honors Algebra which was close
to 100%. He is always willing to
run his own review sessions and
thoroughly enjoys helping fellow
classmates understand the
material.
PE and Health Students of the 2nd
Quarter
Nicole Curtis is Principled.
Throughout this entire quarter Nicole has played
a pivotal role within her groups. Her level of
communication, in terms of getting all students
engaged and working with one another has
created a positive learning environment for some
of my most difficult students. She simplifies rules
and processes information so that other students
learn it quickly. She is constantly building
relationships with all students which creates
students success on all levels. She demonstrates
fair play and is always prepared for a class. Nicole
is very intelligent and possesses intangibles that
will only lead to her success: Hard worker, loves
challenges, provides feedback to teachers, and
has a teachable spirit.
Hannah Montau is
Principled and
Knowledgeable.
Hannah has demonstrated a
great work ethic throughout the
quarter (semester). She is always
willing to contribute to our class
discussions, adding meaningful
comments and raising
appropriate questions. She has
worked diligently through her
coursework showing
understanding of the mastery
objectives.
Social Studies Students of the 2nd Quarter
Jenny Dang is a Thinker.
Jenny is delightful young
student with a great sense of
humor. She is an eager
participator and her
enthusiasm for learning is
refreshing. Due to her great
preparation for the final
exam, she earned one of the
highest grades in all of the AP
US Government sections.
Michael Kapneck is a Risk-Taker.
Michael made the leap to take an
advanced placement course this
year. Needing an A on the final
exam to receive an A for the
semester, Michael met the
challenge head on and had one of
the best scores in his class.
IB Students of the 2nd Quarter
Hameed Siddiqui is a Thinker
and Inquirer.
In addition to earning stellar
grades, Hameed is a thinker and
an inquirer. Hameed is
researching the “Miracle on Ice”
for his extended essay and he
shows excellent use of
resources and a commitment to
deep learning.
Zarah Salas is a Caring.
Zarah is a caring member of her IB
cohort. She is often helping other
students in classes and with
understanding. Zarah is an
excellent student and a trilingual
communicator. Zarah is a speaker
of English, Spanish and excels in
her IB French 5 course.

Alicia Isenburg is Caring.
Alicia is a very caring
individual. She is always
concerned about her school
friends and teachers. She enjoys
encouraging others, and is happy
when other reach their goals. She
is very respectful and positive
person.
Valery Condero Contreras is
Knowledgeable.
Valery is a very knowledgeable
person. She is very inquisitive
and curious about learning new
subjects. She also enjoys
learning about new cultures, and
sharing her perspectives from a
global view.
