Each will travel to Damascus today, Monday, May 16 for a 2nd round playoff game. Game time for both is 4:00 p.m. We hope you’ll come out to cheer on your favorite Screaming Eagle. • Seneca Valley High School is looking for parents or guardians who are willing to serve our community as advocates for students and families. Specifically, we are working to identify someone to serve as our NAACP Parent representative and someone to serve as our Hispanic Parent Network representative. Additionally, we are looking for parents who are willing to meet once a quarter to discuss issues facing our students and to identify ways to celebrate the amazing diversity we have in our school. Although nearly 38% of our students have identified themselves as Black, and nearly 30% of our students have identified themselves as Hispanic, we have struggled to fill these positions for many years. We sincerely hope that will change in the coming year. • Unlimited Summer Ride-On Cards now available – Your children can “Get Unlimited Rides Between June 1 - August 31 For Only $18 With Your Youth Cruiser SmarTrip® Card Anywhere Ride On takes you in Montgomery County.” For more information, visit http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/uploadedFiles/schools/senecavalleyhs/news/SmarTrip %20Card%208-31-16.pdf • Tuesday, May 17th is our monthly PTSA meeting. I sincerely hope many of you will consider coming out to share your perspectives and to give input on important discussions. The meeting will begin at 6:30 in the Media Center.
