Welcome Back!
As you know, we have migrated our computer operating system from XP to Windows 7.
There are a few “quirks” with the system, but once you follow these basic steps, you should be
up and running!
 ADOBE PDF on the web can take some time to show up in the browser. You can try to
refresh the browser to see if it will show up quicker.
 You will need to add our FileMaker Server info in order to see our databases. From Staff
Apps, launch FileMaker 11. Open Remote. In the view box, click on Favorite Host. Click
the add button. In the Host Internet Address, put 10.45.1.14
In the Favorite Host Name, put rh707-fm1. You will now be able to see our databases.
 If you have a Promethean Board, and your computer image is NOT appearing on either
your computer or the board, from the keyboard press the “windows” key (it has the
Microsoft window logo on it) and the letter P. This will bring up the menu to clone
(duplicate) your computer to your Promethean Board.
 If you must leave your computer for any reason, please make sure that you LOCK the
computer by pressing the CONTROL-ALT-DEL keys simultaneously. Choose Lock This
Computer from the menu. Users who leave their computers logged in and unattended
are violating MCPS computer regulations.
 When you log onto a Windows 7 computer for the first time, the printers take a few
minutes to load. Please be patient. They WILL load.
 If your account is not housed at RHMS, you most likely have a roaming account. In
order to log onto our computers, you must put your domain before your user name.
