includes related assessments or tasks in all subject areas. Rocky Hill students will
attend Outdoor Education at Summit Lake, a beautiful site near Thurmont,
MD. Students will attend one of three sessions:
Session 1: April 13 – 15, 2016
Session 2: April 18 – 20, 2016
Session 3: April 20 – 22, 2016
All sessions are fully supervised and staffed by Rocky Hill teachers, administration,
parent volunteers, and high school student counselors. Please mark your calendars to
attend the informative meeting on January 7th in the Rocky Hill cafeteria. See details

bank. Any nonperishable food item would be greatly appreciated during the collection
dates of Dec. 7th – Dec. 16th. All food items will be collected by the World Studies
department.
Toy Drive: Good afternoon Wildcats!!! There are two toy fundraisers for children who
are ill, going on right now here at Rocky Hill!!! The 8th grade is collecting toys for sick
children at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, and Ms. Tip is collecting toys for ill children at
Children’s Hospital. So here is what we are going to do. We are going to make it a
competition! All 6th and 7th graders will bring their toys to Ms. Tip or their PE teacher.
All 8th graders will bring their toys to their Science teacher. The grade level that brings
in the most toys by December 18th for the children will get a break from their fitness
day during the week of Dec. 21. So, bring your toys in to the appropriate collection area
by December 18th!!! You will help your grade level, but most importantly, you will help
the children who are ill and in the hospital at the holidays.
Attention All Wildcats… The basketball teams have been chosen and our players
have been working hard in practice to get ready for the 1st game! Our first game will be
held on Thursday, December 17th afterschool in the Wildcat Arena. All students are
encouraged to come out, cheer on, and make some noise as the Lady Wildcats take on
our rivals, the Baker Bulldogs!!!!! In order to stay, students must purchase a ticket at
lunch for $1 and sign up in advance. Students must also be academically eligible to
stay. Tickets will be sold at each lunch starting Tuesday, December 15th. We will
also have water and snacks for sale at halftime for $1 apiece. All proceeds will go
towards funding the activity bus for spring activities.
Attention all PE students… December is here and so is the cold weather!
Students are encouraged to bring in navy blue, grey or black sweatpants &
sweatshirts, hats and gloves for PE as we will continue to have class outside until
the weather permits. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately for the weather
so that you can be successful and comfortable in class.
